White Light Chorale was born quite effortlessly in the midst of composing a much larger work – my third opera ION. The texture is limited to two fairly simple musical ideas, the chorale (as foreground) and the repeated note (as background).
This brief work for young musicians was written at the request of Thalia Myers, for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. It is published in the Anthology SPECTRUM 3.
