This short work, commissioned by the ABRSM, forms part of their Anthology contemporray piano works SPECTRUM 4. The work consists of several fragments that can be played in any order, and while aimed at younger players, can also be performed by seasoned performers.

"Ratri" in Hindi means night, and the work draws on atmospheric allusions.
